April 14, 2010 7:49am. Yushu County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province was hit by a 7.1 magnitude earthquake. The earthquake caused terrible damage: about 30,000 square kilometers of land felt the earthquake, 12 townships were affected, with about 900 square kilometers most hard-hit. Till April 20, the earthquake death toll has reached 2046 people with 193 people missing. 12,135 people were injured with 1434 seriously. Mountains shook, the earth trembled, destroying beautiful homes and countless lives in an instant.

After the earthquake, the community supported the disaster areas in a variety of ways; lending a helping hand to people in disaster areas and to express their love. CCTV on the evening of 20 April hosted the "Yushu Boundless Love earthquake relief fund-raising special" disaster relief show, broadcast "live" by CCTV. Mr. Woo Swee Lian, President of the Perfect (China) Co., Ltd, and (Perfect China) donated RMB 10 million on behalf of the company for the disaster area. President Woo promised during the event with emotion: "After the Sichuan Wenchuan earthquake, Perfect China build a "Hope" primary school in Jiuzhaigou Wujiaoxian as an Earthquake Memorial. Perfect China will also build a "Hope" primary school in Yushu as an Earthquake Memorial. President Woo also hope that compatriots in both China and Overseas will contribute to build the perfect home for the Yushu people."

On April 21, Perfect China's Chairman Dato' Koo Yuen Kim was interviewed by various media from Guangdong Province and Zhongshan. He said that when the earthquake stuck, he was in Malaysia and watched the news with a heavy heart. He commented that a country in its historical process will inevitably experience disaster and suffering. It is a fact of life that human beings have to experience this and it's unavoidable. Perfect China's achievement today is inseparable from the support by the Government and the love from the community. Perfect China will to the best of its ability; contribute to the community, to help people in need by doing public service and charity. Charity is not dependent on a person's race or nationality. Dato' Koo personally donated Malaysian Ringgit 100,000. This is the responsibility of an enterprise and member of society.
